Show-off!

I was captivated by this pair of killdeer as they scurried back and forth along the bank of the Arkansas River. This one decided to fan its tail feathers and put on a show!

Hope Springs Eternal

I chose this as the first photo to post from our recent trip to Sanibel Island. It is of a pair of snowy plovers, a bird that is on the threatened list in Florida as there may be as few as 200 nesting pairs left in that state. This pair did not appear to have started a nest quite yet, but I am hoping that is their intent.
