Early Autumn along the Big Blue
One of my favorite places to fly fish in western Colorado is Big Blue Creek. Big Blue flows to the north and eventually empties into the spectacular Black Canyon of the Gunnison River. It contains brook, rainbow and brown trout in amazing numbers that readily take both dry flies and nymphs. The Big Blue valley contains one of the largest stands of uninterrupted aspen trees I have ever seen. These hillsides turn a magnificent golden color in the fall that is simply awe inspiring!
