Tender Moment
A jenny and foal wild burros share a tender moment at Custer State Park in South Dakota. While free roaming and wild, the burros are very docile and will come up to visitors looking for a handout. The burro herd is leftover from rides that years ago used to take visitors to the top of Harney Peak. When the rides were discontinued, the burros were released into the park.
Custer is a great park for observing many different kinds of animals and birds. We had a great visit and plan to go back.
