White-breasted Nuthatch - Shooting Gallery I
These three images were taken from my favorite seat in our house, a stool that overlooks our deck and our bird feeders. I have a dead branch that I have attached to the railing and the birds will perch here before they fly up to the feeder. I will sit for hours shooting away - it never gets old. It is great practice for utilizing proper techniques for longer lenses as well as a place for experimenting with things like fill flash, etc. I got the idea of using my house as a blind and a place for capturing birds from a Moose Peterson video. Moose is an awesome photographer and a great inspiration. He calls his home set-up the "Shooting Gallery." Thanks, Moose!
